Small Planet Airlines Cambodia (LKH, Phnom Penh) has asked the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) to suspend its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) effective immediately, The Khmer Times has reported.

The carrier's CEO Erikas Zubrus strongly denied having filed such a motion with the SSCA in a statement to ch-aviation.

The carrier has been dormant since early December 2018, when it returned both its A320-200s to lessors.

The Cambodian independently managed unit of Small Planet Group sub-leased both aircraft from its Lithuanian parent, Small Planet Airlines (Vilnius), which filed for restructuring at the end of October 2018 and subsequently lost its licence at the end of November. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, XU-801 is owned by Park Aerospace Holdings and managed by Avolon, while XU-802 is both owned and managed by Aircastle.

The SSCA said it has not yet received the request.
