Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International) has asked the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to reissue its certificates and other authorities featuring its revised corporate name, Republic Airways Inc. The carrier is currently known as Republic Airline Inc.

"Republic plans to change its corporate name to Republic Airways Inc., and will continue to be an Indiana corporation and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings Inc.," it said.

"The issuance of certificates and other authorities is justified and appropriate to reflect a straightforward corporate name change. Republic’s corporate name change will not involve any change to the management, financial condition, operations, ownership, control or citizenship of the air carrier."

The Indiana-based capacity provider currently operates a fleet of sixty E170s and 129 E175s on scheduled interstate and foreign passenger flights for third-party carriers that include American Airlines (under the American Eagle brand), Delta Air Lines (under the Delta Connection), and United Airlines (under the United Express brand).
