Bamboo Airways (QH, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has secured its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) and is now preparing to launch.

According to a statement issued by parent firm FLC Group, the licence was conferred on Tuesday, January 8. Although it has yet to specify a formal launch date, the conglomerate did state that Bamboo Airways' first routes would connect Hanoi Noi Bai International to each of Ho Chi Minh City, Qui Nhon, and Dong Hoi. It will also run flights from Ho Chi Minh City to each of Qui Nhon and Quang Ninh.

Operationally, Bamboo Airways has amassed a fleet of one A319-100, two A320-200s, and one A321-200neo. Three more A320-200s are slated to be wet-leased from Freebird Airlines (FH, Istanbul Airport).
