Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona) is planning to add five E195LRs from Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich) over the next two years, President and CEO Jörg Eberhart told Air Transport World.
"We will add two to three aircraft per year, which is, of course, ambitious also in terms recruiting personnel," Eberhart said.
The Italian regional subsidiary of Lufthansa Group is also mulling adding a further nine E190LRs currently operated by Lufthansa CityLine through 2024, although it has not yet committed to that.
"A decision if we go ahead with these nine aircraft could be made possibly this year," Eberhart said.
Going forward, the carrier will also evaluate new generation equipment in the 150-seat segment, either E195-E2s or A220s.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Air Dolomiti currently operates twelve E195s, which are 8.2 years old on average and are all owned by Lufthansa. The further five units due for delivery in 2019 and 2020 are: D-AEBB (msn 19000316), D-AEBC (msn 19000320), D-AEMB (msn 19000297), D-AEMC (msn 19000300), and D-AEMD (msn 19000305). All five are already over 9 years old.
In 2018, Eberhart said that Air Dolomiti's fleet would more than double to twenty-six aircraft.
