flybe. (2002) (Exeter) has announced plans to sell Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat) slots at London Gatwick for a total of GBP4.5 million (USD5.8 million).

The carrier said in a filing to the London Stock Exchange that the transfer would take effect from the beginning of the Summer 2019 Season, i.e. March 31, 2019.

The funds will be payable in two tranches the first of which is due shortly while the remainder will be paid in June this year in respect of slots to be used during the Winter 2019/20 season and subsequent Winter Seasons.

It is reported the slots are related to flybe's current London Gatwick-Newquay service which will now shift to London Heathrow. flybe. does no longer operate any other services from/to Gatwick. It operates from Heathrow to Aberdeen Dyce and Edinburgh as well as from London City to Amsterdam Schiphol, Belfast City, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, and Exeter. Franchisees Blue Islands (SI, Jersey) and Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) operate from City to Jersey and Aberdeen (via Newcastle, GB) respectively while Stobart Air (Dublin International) operates flybe. branded services out of London Southend.
