JAL - Japan Airlines (JL, Tokyo Haneda) says it will deploy its incoming fleet of A350-900s into commercial service later this summer season.

In a statement, the carrier said it would use the Airbus widebodies to operate its Tokyo Haneda-Fukuoka route from September onwards. At the same time, JAL will also look to deploy its first domestic-configured B787-8s on its Tokyo Haneda-Osaka Itami route.

JAL has eighteen A350-900s and thirteen A350-1000s on firm order from Airbus with options for a further twenty-five of either type.

Earlier this month, JAL's chairman, Yuji Akasaka, said the carrier expected to take delivery of its first A350-900 in June this year.
