JetBlue Airways (B6, New York JFK) says it may only take delivery of roughly half the A321neo Family jets it is due from Airbus in 2019.

According to the carrier's 4Q18/FY2018 financial filings, while it is contracted to take delivery of thirteen A321neo in 2019, given delays with the programme, its capacity guidance and capital expenditure assumptions assume delivery of a minimum of six aircraft of the type this year.

According to Chief Financial Officer Stephen Priest, the uncertainty could result in as many as seven A321neo being deferred to 2020 where jetBlue currently expects 15 aircraft to deliver.

"There is no impact on our 2019 or 2020 capacity and our CASM guidance given that we anticipated there will be changes to our order book when we gave the guidance accordingly," he added.

jetBlue has a total of eighty-five Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-JM-powered A321neo on order from Airbus.

Airbus informed A321neo and A321neo(LR) customers in November last year of delivery delays of several weeks given engine delivery issues as well as challenges in completing cabin customization work.
