AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) is going to launch the first international service to Can Tho in southern Viet Nam on April 8, 2019, followed by services of its sister carrier Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang) service to the city from May 2.

AirAsia will operate from Kuala Lumpur International 4x weekly, while its Thai sister airline will serve Can Tho 3x weekly from Bangkok Don Mueang.

"As the largest foreign airline group by capacity in Vietnam, we are also excited to be the first international airline flying directly into Can Tho from Malaysia," AirAsia CEO Riad Asmat said.

The LCC serves Ho Chi Minh City from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor Bahru, Hanoi Noi Bai International from Kuala Lumpur and Penang, as well as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang Cam Ranh only from the main Malaysian gateway.
