Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) will join oneworld alliance in early 2012 but will already start codesharing with American Airlines (AA/Dallas/Fort Worth) on routes from Germany and Switzerland to the United States and connections within the US on November 1. As of the same date, it will also codeshare with Finnair (AY/Helsinki) on routes between Germany and Finland. Air Berlin is also expecting to enter into codeshare agreements with British Airways (BA/London Heathrow) and Iberia (IB/Madrid) in 2011. It has also given up plans for seasonal services from Berlin Schönefeld to Lanzarote, Las Palmas and Nuremberg, from Berlin Tegel to Brindisi, from Dresden to Lamezia Terme, from Dusseldorf Intl to Bari, from Friedrichshafen to Lamezia Terme, from Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel to Bari and Menorca and from Nuremberg to Heringsdorf and has suspended its Berlin Tegel-Djerba, Berlin Tegel-Monastir, Berlin Tegel-Phuket, Dortmund-Fuerteventura, Dortmund-Las Palmas, Hanover-Monastir, Munich-Cancun, Munich-Djerba and Nuremberg-Paphos routes for the summer season. Air Berlin will also give up its Berlin Tegel-Gdansk, Berlin Tegel-Memmingen, Cologne/Bonn-Venice Marco Polo, Copenhagen-Palma de Mallorca, Dusseldorf Intl-Krakow routes and Stuttgart-Valencia routes on October 31. Air Berlin has renegotiated its outstanding orders with Boeing and has delayed deliveries of nine B737-700/-800 aircraft from 2010/2011 to 2015 and the delivery of its first of now 15 instead of 25 B787-8s from 2013 to 2015. It has also cut the number of B787-8 options from 10 down to 5.
