JetSMART Argentina (WJ, Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini) has outlined its planned operational launch plans having completed its Argentine certification drive in December last year.

The nascent low-cost carrier and Indigo Partners subsidiary said in a statement that flights would commmence on April 8 with the following routes to roll out thereafter:

  • Buenos Aires El PalomarMendoza International (starts April 8, 2019);
  • Buenos Aires (El Palomar)–Neuquén (starts April 8, 2019);
  • Buenos Aires (El Palomar)–Córdoba (starts April 8, 2019);
  • Buenos Aires (El Palomar)–Salta (starts April 22, 2019);
  • Córdoba International–Salta (starts April 22, 2019);
  • Córdoba–Neuquén (starts April 29, 2019);
  • Buenos Aires (El Palomar)–Tucumán (starts May 6, 2019);
  • Mendoza–Neuquén (starts May 6, 2019);
  • Buenos Aires (El Palomar)–San Carlos de Bariloche (starts May 20, 2019);
  • Buenos Aires (El Palomar)–Iguazú (starts June 17, 2019);
  • Córdoba–San Carlos de Bariloche (starts June 17, 2019);
  • Mendoza–San Carlos de Bariloche (starts June 17, 2019).

Operations are on-board A320ceo equipment. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Estuardo Ortiz said last year that JetSMART expected to commence flights with a fleet of three A320ceo. Overall, the objective is to deploy a total of seventeen aircraft to the LCC's Buenos Aires El Palomar hub.

Argentina's low-cost carrier scene currently features the likes of Norwegian Air Argentina and Flybondi while for their part, SKY Airline (Chile) and Grupo Viva have each expressed an interest in establishing their own subsidiaries in the country.
