Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) will start B737-8-200 operations on May 14, 2019, basing the first units of the type exclusively out of London Stansted, Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs told various media outlets.

Flightglobal cited Jacobs as saying that the Irish LCC would plan to take five MAX 200s this year. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Ryanair has 135 such aircraft on order with Boeing and is one of only two customers for the type so far with VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) having another order for 100 of the aircraft.

Ryanair's MAX 200s will feature 197 passenger seats. The type is based on the modified B737-8 with additional doors and an altered galley and lavatories layout to accommodate more seats at a 28-inch pitch.
