Juneyao Air (HO, Shanghai Hongqiao) has selected Egypt for its inaugural African services, a filing with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has said.

According to the regulator, Juneyao Air has applied for permission to operate a 2x weekly Shanghai Pudong-Xi'an Xianyang-Cairo International route as well as a 4x weekly non-stop Shanghai Pudong-Cairo route.

Both authorities should become effective from November 2019 and will presumably be operated with its B787-9s.

Aside from an extensive domestic Chinese network, Juneyao Air currently offers international flights to Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and, effective later this summer, Finland.
