Tigerair Taiwan (IT, Taipei Taoyuan) is still in the process of finalizing its fleet growth plans, a company spokesman has told the Taipei Times.

In a telephone interview, Bernard Hsu said that while fleet expansion would help the carrier accelerate growth, the details of the plan, such as the number of aircraft to be purchased, have yet to be finalized.

In July last year, China Airlines chairman Nuan-Hsuan Ho told the CNA news agency that the LCC's narrowbody fleet procurement plan would be factored into that of its parent. A decision was expected by late 2018 but has since been delayed for unspecified reasons.

Given its strong financial performance of late, China Airlines has set Tigerair Taiwan on the path for an IPO at some point in 2020. This, it said, will allow the LCC to more easily raise funds for future growth.

Tigerair Taiwan currently operates eleven A320-200s on flights to 25 cities primarily in Japan but inclusive of the Philippines, South Korea, mainland China, Thailand, and Macau.
