Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) will relocate its Moscow operations from Moscow Domodedovo to Moscow Sheremetyevo as of July 2, 2019, in order to facilitate future closer cooperation with Skyteam partner Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo).

"The decision was driven by the airline’s commitment to high customer satisfaction... This decision will also facilitate Vietnam Airlines cooperation and partnership with Russia’s major carrier Aeroflot, as the two airlines target to begin codesharing on domestic routes in Vietnam and Russia and expand their cooperation across several areas of the business," the airline said in a statement.

Currently, according to the ch-aviation capacity module, the two airlines do not codeshare, despite being members of the same alliance.

The Vietnamese airline will continue to fly to the Russian capital from Hanoi Noi Bai International 3x weekly using B787-9 equipment.

Aeroflot currently operates daily from Sheremetyevo to Hanoi and 3x weekly to Ho Chi Minh City, serving both routes with B777-300(ER) aircraft.
