AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) will resume its route from Kuala Lumpur International to Siborong Borong in Indonesia, the only international service to the latter airport.

ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed that the Malaysian LCC intends to fly to Tarutung, an airport in northern Sumatra, 4x weekly using A320-200 aircraft, starting on May 24, 2019. It has previously operated to the airport serving Lake Toba from October 28, 2018 to February 27, 2019.

Tarutung currently sees 46 scheduled flights weekly to Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta Halim, and Medan Kuala Namu operated by Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Sriwijaya Air, Batik Air, and Wings Air (Indonesia). The airport will become AirAsia's fourteenth Indonesian destination.
