On April 13, Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah) took delivery of the first of six A321-200neo(LR) aircraft, A6-ATA (msn 8714).

The aircraft is powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines and seat 215 passengers in a single class configuration. The remaining five aircraft will continue to be delivered throughout 2019. All six aircraft will be on lease from Air Lease Corporation.

Air Arabia is planning to deploy its latest aircraft type from Sharjah to Cairo International, Karachi International, and Riyadh starting May 1. Later, routes to Kuala Lumpur International (July 1), Jeddah International and Sialkot (September 1), as well as Multan (October 1) will follow.

So far, the carrier has not announced launch dates for any other long haul destinations besides Kuala Lumpur. Back in 2017, Adel Al Ali, Air Arabia's group CEO also mentioned "China, Thailand, South Africa, Central Africa, Morocco, Eastern Europe and Russia" as potential destinations with the new aircraft.
