FlyBosnia (Sarajevo) will launch its first scheduled route from Sarajevo to Kuwait on June 4, 2019, EX-YU Aviation has reported.

The Bosnian privately-owned start-up will operate the route 3x weekly using an A319-100 aircraft. It plans to announce further destinations shortly.

The airline currently has one A319, E7-FBA (msn 1808), a 16.7-year old aircraft dry-leased from AerCap. The unit is currently operating domestic test flights between Sarajevo, Banja Luka International, and Mostar. In March, the carrier announced it signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for a further three aircraft of the type, of which the first one is due to arrive in Sarajevo at the end of April.

CEO Chris Gabriel told eKapija that the airline's launch was delayed due to the high demand for airport slots.

"Our key destinations in the first phase of air operations will be Riyadh, Jeddah International, Kuwait, Bahrain International, Beirut, and Amman Queen Alia in the Middle East, and London, Frankfurt International, Rome, and Dublin International in Europe," Gabriel said.

FlyBosnia also plans to operate charter flights to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
