World Sonic Air (Aruba) has secured an Air Operator's Certificate in Aruba and is planning to operate a single VIP-configured B787-8(BBJ), AINonline has reported.

The carrier is a wholly-owned subsidiary of business charter specialist Hongkong Jet (Hong Kong International).

Hongkong Jet itself does not currently operate B787-8s. However, its sister airline BAS Guernsey (Guernsey) operates a single unit of the type, 2-DEER (msn 35309). The Boeing widebody is owned by Deer Jet Beijing (BDJ, Beijing Capital), which owns both BAS Guernsey and Hongkong Jet. In turn, Deer Jet is a HNA Group entity.

World Sonic Air plans to "eventually" also add smaller Bombardier Aerospace and Gulfstream Aerospace business jets to its AOC.
