Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has issued a request for proposals for the dry-lease of five regional jets to be delivered in 2020.

The request is for five new either E175Plus or CRJ900 aircraft. The tentative delivery schedule foresees two aircraft to be delivered in the first and three aircraft in the second quarter of 2020.

Prior to issuing this current RfP, Vietnam Airlines was looking for two aircraft of either type for six-month wet-lease contracts last year, although the Vietnamese national carrier did not actually end up finding an operator willing to supply aircraft.

At present, Vietnam Airlines does not operate regional aircraft itself, but its subsidiary VASCO - Vietnam Air Services (0V, Ho Chi Minh City) operates six ATR72-500 aircraft on domestic flights in Vietnam with over 50% of its turboprop capacity deployed on the Ho Chi Minh City-Con Dao route, the ch-aviation capacity module shows.
