After Thomas Cook Group announced it would consider selling its airline business, the tour operator reportedly received a number of bids for the entire company or parts of it, Sky News has reported.

Sources described the talks as preliminary. A potential conclusion and sale are not expected earlier than in a few months' time. Sources also underlined that the bids for the entire company started coming in once Thomas Cook announced a strategic review and potentially a sale of its airline business in February 2019.

Sky News said that China's Fosun, Thomas Cook's joint venture partner in the country, is among the interested parties.

Earlier, Lufthansa Group was reported also interested in acquiring Thomas Cook's German airline Condor (DE, Frankfurt International).
