JTA - Japan Transocean Air (NU, Okinawa Naha) has ended B737 Classic flight operations following the retirement of JA8995 (msn 28831) on Sunday, May 26.

The 21-year-old B737-400's last commercial service was as flight NU572 Miyakojima-Okinawa Naha on Friday, May 24, followed by a farewell sightseeing flight two days later.

The JAL - Japan Airlines subsidiary's fleet now entails twelve B737-800s used to connect Japan's southern Ryukyu Islands with cities on the main islands of Kyushu and Honshu.
