Avianca (Bogotá) has taken delivery of its first B787-9 following the handing over of N797AV (msn 43983). According to SMBC Aviation Capital, the handover took place on May 30.
The aircraft is the first of three the Colombian carrier is taking on sales/lease-back from SMBC, the second and third being due in 2021.
The trio will feature Rolls-Royce Trent 1000-D2 motors.
Avianca is an existing B787 operator with thirteen B787-8s currently in service.
