Helvetic Airways (2L, Zurich) has permanently ended Fokker 100 operations on June 14, 2019. The carrier is replacing the ageing jets with Embraer equipment.

Helvetic Airways only operated two remaining F100s, both of which are nearly 26 years old. HB-JVF (msn 11466) has been inactive since June 9 and HB-JVG (msn 11478) since June 8, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. Both have now been ferried to Bratislava, HB-JVG following a last farewell flight. The units are owned by Helvetic Airways and, according to the ch-aviation fleets module, have accumulated over 58,300 and over 58,100 flight hours through the end of March 2019.

While initially, Helvetic Airways planned to retire the Fokkers by 2020, earlier this year the carrier announced that it will dry-lease four additional E190ARs from Nordic Aviation Capital ahead of the peak Summer 2019 season to accelerate the phase-out of the F100s.

The carrier currently operates seven E190LRs and the four E190ARs dry-leased from NAC.

Helvetic Airways also has a firm order for twelve E190-E2s. The deliveries of the new jets are due to commence in September 2019.
