Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) has put its last remaining B757-200(M), 9N-ACB (msn 23863), up for sale after the state-owned carrier's board approved the motion.
The 31-year-old twinjet, which features 16 seats in business class and 174 in economy, is powered by Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4s. It is currently stored in Kathmandu. Nepal Airlines had intended to have the aircraft undergo a C Check earlier this year, only to abandon the plan citing costs. It will therefore be sold as is.
According to board minutes seen by the NepalLive portal, Swiss firm Fintech appraised 9N-ACB at a value of up to USD9.652 million. The airline has since set USD7.8 million as the minimum asking price.
Nepal Airlines sold its other B757-200 to BB Airways (BBW, Kathmandu) back in 2017. However, with the long-stalled carrier having failed to re-secure its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), 9N-ACA (msn 23850) has languished at Kathmandu Tribhuvan ever since.
