American fund Indigo Partners is in talks with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) about an order for A321-200neo(XLR) aircraft for its low-cost carriers, Reuters has reported citing sources.

Airbus is expected to formally confirm the launch of the ultra-long-haul variant of the A321neo during the upcoming Paris Air Show.

During the 2017 Paris Air Show, Indigo Partners placed a record order for 430 A320neo Family aircraft, including 273 A320-200neo and 157 A321neo. The aircraft will deliver to four LCCs in which the fund holds stakes, namely Frontier Airlines (F9, Denver International), JetSMART (JA, Santiago de Chile), Wizz Air (W6, Budapest), and Volaris (Y4, México City International). It is not clear whether the potential order for the (XLR) variant would be an incremental contract or entail a conversion from the existing deal.
