Colorful Guizhou Airlines (GY, Guiyang) has signed lease agreements with GECAS involving four A320neo that will deliver from late 2019 through 2020. Announced during the 2019 Paris Air Show at Paris Le Bourget, the narrowbody jets are the Chinese regional carrier's first and are sourced from the lessor's Airbus order book.

"To integrate the operation on regional and trunk routes, Colorful Guizhou Airlines will provide the service for passengers in Guizhou and southwest region of China to connect the rest of the country and the world," Li Shijiong, Chairman of Guizhou Aviation Investment (Group) Co., Ltd and Chairman of Colorful Guizhou Airlines, said in a statement. "These A320neo complement our goal of building a sky passageway inside and beyond Guizhou province, and contribute to improving connectivity."

Headquartered at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, in the south west of China, Colorful Guizhou Airlines currently operates nine E190LRs on scheduled passenger flights spanning 32 cities across China. Permission to induct A320 Family aircraft into service was given in January this year. Overall, the carrier aims to grow its fleet to 25 aircraft by 2025.
