EVA Air (BR, Taipei Taoyuan) has taken delivery of its first B787-10 after B-17801 (msn 63510) arrived at Taipei Taoyuan on June 20.

According to an airline statement to the Taiwanese press, the 342-seater twinjet will be deployed into commercial service on June 28 on flights to Hong Kong International with Hangzhou, Osaka Kansai, and Shenzhen to follow in July. Thereafter, it expects to use the jet on routes throughout South East Asia as well as to Australia.

EVA Air's first two B787-10s are leased from Air Lease Corporation (ALC) while a further eighteen of the type are direct orders from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). Overall, the carrier is expecting four -10s to deliver in 2019 with the remaining sixteen to arrive by the end of 2022.

EVA Air already operates four B787-9s all of which are leased from ALC.
