SCAT Airlines (DV, Shimkent) will launch a new route to Tokyo Narita; its maiden scheduled service to the Far East, ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed.

The Kazakh carrier will operate the route from Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev to Japan weekly from July 6, 2019, using a B757-200.

According to the ch-aviation schedules module, so far the only route operated by SCAT east of Kazakhstan has been its 2x weekly service from Nur-Sultan to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, operated with B737-500s.

SCAT Airlines operates four B757-200s, although the aircraft are used almost exclusively for charter flights operated by its leisure unit, Sunday Airlines (Shimkent). Besides the new service to Tokyo, the only other scheduled route operated with the B757s is a weekly flight between Nur-Sultan and Atyrau.
