Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has taken delivery of its first of twenty-five B787-9s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). According to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, TC-LLA (msn 65801) was ferried non-stop from Everett to Istanbul Airport on June 25.

Powered by General Electric GEnx-1B74/75/P1s, the widebody jet features 30 seats in business class and 270 in economy. It is scheduled to enter service on July 8 on crew training flights between Istanbul Airport and Antalya. Thereafter, international operations will begin on July 17 with service to Denpasar (Indonesia) followed by each of Washington Dulles (August 8), Delhi International (August 21), New York JFK (August 22), and Cancún via México City International (August 25).

According to its 1Q19 financials, Turkish Airlines is expecting six B787-9s in 2019 followed by nine in 2020, six in 2021, and four in 2022.

The carrier's widebody fleet also consists of thirty-three B777-300(ER)s, forty A330-300s, and eighteen A330-200s. It also has twenty-five A350-900s due to deliver from Airbus in March 2020.
