Alliance Airlines (QQ, Brisbane International) has continued its Fokker Aircraft acquisition program with the signing of a binding purchase agreement with Helvetic Airways (2L, Zurich) for five recently retired Fokker 100s.

The Australian carrier said in a stock market filing that the purchase also includes the "entirety" of Helvetic's spare engines, parts, and tooling.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the acquired aircraft are msn 11501, 11459, 11466, 11478, and 11324 all of which are in Bratislava undergoing predelivery maintenance.

The acquisition builds on Alliance's purchase of twenty-one Fokker aircraft (fifteen Fokker 100s and six Fokker 70s) from Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) in December 2015.

“Since the 2015 fleet purchase, we have increased our operational fleet by 11 aircraft to meet the needs of a resurgent resources sector, satisfy the demand for wet-lease services and service the growing opportunities within the tourism sector," Scott McMillan, Managing Director for Alliance Airlines, said.

"We have also successfully on-sold several of the Austrian fleet as well as establishing ongoing engine leases and we continue to sell increasing amounts of spare parts to all the major Fokker operators in the southern hemisphere."

Alliance currently operates thirty-two Fokker 100s, five Fokker 50s, and fifteen Fokker 70s. It specialises in scheduled and charter flights throughout Australia under its own brand as well as for Virgin Australia International (VA, Brisbane International).
