Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) has signed an agreement with Turkish tour operator Dorak Holdings and will launch charter flights from Kuala Lumpur International to Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The Malaysian carrier said in a press release that the charters will operate 3x weekly using A330-200 aircraft with 287 seats on board, including 19 in business class and 268 in economy. The contract will cover flights from October to December 2019.

Malaysia Airlines operates six A330-200s, all of which are equipped with 287 seats.

According to the ch-aviation schedules module, Malaysia Airlines does not currently fly to Turkey. Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) operates daily from Istanbul Airport to Kuala Lumpur but there are no direct flights from Sabiha Gökcen to South-East Asia.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen, an airport located on the Asian side of the city, is privately owned by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), which also operates most of the airports in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
