Regional Jet (Tallinn Lennart Meri) is planning to add Embraer regional jets, specifically E190s and E195s, the head of communications of parent Nordica (ND, Tallinn Lennart Meri) said.

In a social media post, Toomas Uibo did not clarify how many Embraers the Estonian carrier was planning to add. But, according to the local daily Posttimees, Regional Jet will add "more than one" Embraer ahead of the Summer 2020 season.

Uibo also added that the carrier planned to increase its fleet of ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops and CRJ regional jets, without providing any details.

Regional Jet, which is 49%-owned by LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin), currently operates seven ATR72-600s, two CRJ700s, and ten CRJ900s. The ACMI/charter specialist wet-leases aircraft out to SAS Scandinavian Airlines, LOT, and its 51%-owner Nordica on long-term contracts. Nordica will end its own services at the end of the Summer 2019 season with LOT taking over the commercial risk of its remaining routes. Regional Jet also wet-leases aircraft to other carriers on a short-term basis.

LOT itself is a major Embraer customer with a fleet of six E170s, twelve E175s, four E190s, and fifteen E195s.
