flynas (XY, Riyadh) has said in a press release that it wet-leased thirteen widebody aircraft to run this year's Hajj charter programme, including three A380-800s and an A330-900.

As previously reported, the carrier - whose in-house fleet consists exclusively of thirty-one narrowbody Airbus aircraft - wet-leased three A380s from Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International), which operate between Kuala Lumpur International and Jeddah International. The carrier is also wet-leasing two B747-400s from Terra Avia (T8, Chisinau International), which operate charters from various African cities, such as Accra, Algiers, Abidjan, and Nouakchott, to Madinah.

flynas' wet-leased fleet also includes six units from Indonesia's Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) - three A330-300s, one -900, and two narrowbody B737-900(ER)s. The Saudi carrier is also using its own A320 Family jets to operate Hajj charters. It in-house fleet includes two A319-100s, twenty-six A320-200s, and three A320-200neo.

Meanwhile, the English-language daily Saudi Gazette has reported that Saudia (SV, Jeddah International) will add seventeen wet-leased aircraft as it aims to transport around 1.2 million pilgrims during this year's Hajj season. Details of the plan were not disclosed. Saudia did not respond to ch-aviation's question about its wet-leased fleet.
