Uni-top Airlines (Kunming Changshui) has announced plans to start cargo flights to the United States during the final quarter of this year.

According to its application to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for Exemption Authority and a Foreign Air Carrier Permit, Uni-top intends to operate a 3x weekly Wuhan-Anchorage Ted Stevens-Chicago O'Hare and v.v service using B747-400(F) equipment. Launch of the service is contingent on the carrier securing the requisite permits in time.

A division of Chinese logistics specialist Uni-top Group, Uni-top Airlines operates a fleet of six A300-600(F)(R)s and two B747-400(F)s - one BDSF and one FSCD. It wet-leases one more B747-400 freighter from Aerotranscargo (F5, Chisinau International). By 2020, Uni-top Airlines aims to operate nine medium-range freighters alongside seven longhaul-capable jets. By 2023, it aims to operate 24 medium-range and ten longhaul freighters.

In terms of network, it currently operates scheduled flights from China to India, Bangladesh, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Japan for and on behalf of major clients that include Huawei, Xiaomi, Foxconn, ZTE, OPPO, VIVO, HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Schenker.

Based on the consolidation of China's “Belt and Road” policy, Uni-top also plans to open up routes to South America, Africa and other parts of Europe.
