The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has cleared Simrik Airlines (Kathmandu) to resume operations as of September 6, 2019, after the airline implemented changes in its aircraft maintenance programme mandated by the authority, the English-language Himalayan Times has reported.
The carrier was forced to suspend all operations on August 20 after a CAAN audit revealed that Simrik Airlines was using substandard spare parts during the maintenance of its two Beech 1900Cs.
The airline initially submitted documents seeking the lifting of the suspension on August 23, but the CAAN demanded more verification.
"In the course of providing secure flight services, the CAAN had recommended us to make a few changes to our aircraft that we have obliged with," Head of Marketing and Sales Prajol Thapa said.
The airline uses its two turboprops to run flights between Pokhara International, Bhadrapur, Bhairahawa, and Kathmandu.
