Cyprus Airways (CY, Larnaca) plans to launch its first seasonal scheduled routes not touching Cyprus in the summer 2020 season, connecting the Greek islands with Slovakia, Routes Online has reported.
The Cypriot carrier plans to connect Kerkyra with Bratislava and Kosice, starting on June 6 and 16, 2020, respectively. It will also operate from Rhodes to Bratislava starting on June 16. Each of the routes will be served weekly with an A319-100.
According to the ch-aviation schedules module, currently, all of Cyprus Airways' routes currently originate from Larnaca. The carrier serves both Slovakian cities from Cyprus.
Charlie Airlines, the carrier's legal name, is a 40/60 joint-venture between Russia's S7 Group and a consortium of Cypriot investors. It acquired the right to the Cyprus Airways (1947) brand in July 2016, after the bankruptcy of the flag carrier. The airline currently operates two A319s and plans to induct a third unit of the type taken over from S7 Airlines.
