Fiji Airways (FJ, Nadi) has accelerated the planned debut of A350-900 operations and will deploy the type into revenue service on December 1, 2019 already, Routes Online has reported.

Originally, Fiji Airways planned to launch A350 operations in January 2020.

According to the amended schedules, the aircraft will operate daily from Nadi to Sydney Kingsford Smith starting on December 1. According to the ch-aviation schedules module, the airline also plans to deploy the A350 to Auckland International (selected flights from December 18) and Los Angeles International (selected flights from December 22).

Currently, the carrier uses A330-200s and an A330-300 on these routes.

Fiji Airways' widebody fleet currently consists of five A330-200s and one -300. In May 2019, the carrier signed for two A350-900s on lease from DAE Capital with deliveries planned in November and December 2019. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the carrier will receive units msn 299 and msn 320.

Fiji Airways also operates one B737-700 and two B737-800s. It also wet-leases one more -800 from Malindo Air (Kuala Lumpur International) to compensate for the two grounded B737-8s. Wholly-owned subsidiary Fiji Link (FJA, Nadi) operates one ATR42-600, two ATR72-600s, and four DHC-6-400s on regional routes.
