NovoAir (VQ, Dhaka) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Firefly (FY, Penang) wherein the two carriers have pledged to support each other in the areas of training, engineering, aircraft maintenance, and operations. In particular, the Malaysian carrier will assist its Bangladeshi counterpart with access to its pilot training and MRO facilities.

“Our goal is to provide better services to passengers and ensure a safe journey. Therefore, we have signed this MoU with Firefly for necessary cooperation to further improve the quality of services,” Mofizur Rahman, Managing Director, NovoAir, said in a statement.

Currently, NovoAir deploys six ATR72-500s on flights to seven cities across Bangladesh with Kolkata in India its only international destination. For its part, FireFly operates twelve ATR72-500s on scheduled flights spanning 11 cities across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.
