Binter Canarias (NT, Gran Canaria) is set to become the world's second operator of the E195-E2 after it scheduled the type's first revenue service for December 2, ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed.

The Spanish regional specialist will base the first E195-E2 out of Gran Canaria and use it initially to run select flights to Lanzarote, Dakar Blaise Diagne International, Fuerteventura, Palma de Mallorca, Pamplona, Corvera, Sal Amilcar Cabral International, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Tenerife Norte, Vigo, and Zaragoza, as well as between Tenerife North and Zaragoza.

Binter Canarias's E195-E2s will be equipped with 132 seats in an all-economy-class setting. It plans to take three regional jets of the type from Embraer with options for a further two.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the airline currently operates seven ATR72-500s. Its subsidiary Canair operates a further fourteen ATR72-600s. Binter Canarias also wet-leases three CRJ1000ERs from Medavia (Malta International).

Embraer has so far delivered a single E195-E2 to Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) earlier this year. Widerøe (WF, Bodø), Air Astana (KC, Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev), and Helvetic Airways (2L, Zurich) operate E190-E2s.
