The Canadian Transport Authority (CTA) has approved a request from Cargojet Airways (W8, Hamilton, ON) to wet-lease a B767-200(F) from 21 Air (2I, Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) for the peak season covering December 1 through December 24, 2019.

The CTA said in its decision that the application met all legal requirements but explicitly prohibited any revenue-sharing, including any form of a payment contingent on the volume of cargo, between the two carriers. Cargojet will manage the commercial side of the business with 21 Air remaining in control of the operational aspects.

N999YV (msn 23801) operated its first overnight service from Cincinnati International to Hamilton, ON on December 1, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.

21 Air operates two B767-200(BDSF), with the second unit currently operating between Mexico, the US, and other countries in Central America on behalf of Aeroméxico Cargo (México City International).

For its part, Cargojet's fleet includes eight B757-200(PF)s, one B767-200(F) (with a further two units undergoing conversion), and twelve B767-300Fs. The airline also wet-leases an ATR 42-300(F) from First Air (Carp).
