Congo Airways (8Z, Kinshasa N'Djili) has placed an order with Embraer for two new-build E175s with purchase rights for a further two of the type.

A statement said deliveries will start during the final quarter of 2020. Each jet will feature a total of 76 seats, including 12 in Business Class.

As previously reported, Congo Airways is using the incoming Embraer jets to replace its fleet of two Dash 8-400s. The state-owned carrier is also looking to acquire at least two A220-300s to replace its current fleet of A320-200s and at least two ATR42-600s for short haul, low-fare flights.

According to the ch-aviation schedules module, Congo Airways serves 14 cities and towns across the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as Johannesburg O.R. Tambo in South Africa.
