Having had its Commuter Air Carrier Authorisation (CACA) revoked by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) on November 21 for reasons of dormancy, Public Charters (P1, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International) has reapplied for its authorisation on December 12. The operator was issued its original CACA in May 2017.
Within its submitted paperwork, the operator has indicated a possible new route that it is proposing to fly with a scheduled commuter service:
- Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International to Atlantic City, 5x weekly with PA-31 aircraft, announced January 1, 2020, first flight April 1, 2020.
The operator believes that travellers enduring the existing one and two-stop flying alternatives or the lengthy drive time would be better served by a non-stop direct flight on the 124-nautical mile (230-kilometre) sector.
According to its DOT application, PublicCharters has a fleet of one Piper PA-31P-350 Navajo N9202Y (msn 31P-8414004), a PA-31-310 Navajo N9287Y (msn 31-380), and a Beechcraft King Air B200 N504JG (msn BB-1309).
