Air Serbia (JU, Belgrade) has returned one of its daily pair of slots at London Heathrow to 49%-owner Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) for the Summer 2020 season, slot coordinator Airport Coordination Ltd's records have shown.

The slots will be returned to Etihad Airways effective March 29, 2020.

The Serbian carrier previously leased the slot pair from Etihad Airways for the Summer 2019 season to almost double its frequency to the London gateway. It operated these additional flights using an A320-200 wet-leased from its Emirati parent.

According to the ch-aviation schedules module, Air Serbia currently operates daily from Belgrade to London Heathrow, although it will make use of the additional evening slots to operate a number of additional flights during the Christmas peak.

The slots and two more pairs were previously leased by Etihad to Jet Airways (JAI, Mumbai International), a quasi-defunct Indian carrier in which Etihad owns a 24% stake. After Jet's collapse, Etihad Airways used the remaining two ex-Jet Airways slot pairs to add additional flights to London Heathrow. It currently flies between Abu Dhabi International and Heathrow 4x daily using a mix of A380-800s and B787-9s.
