The private jet partner of Air France (AF, Paris CDG) has stopped accepting reservations and has closed its French subsidiary which was based at Paris Le Bourget. Wijet (Paris Le Bourget) had been operating under a French version of bankruptcy protection, but the parent company has confirmed it will resume flights in January 2020, using its subsidiaries in Luxembourg and Belgium, according to a report on the Private Jet Card Comparisons website.

After two years of financial troubles, a French court has ordered the Judicial Liquidation of WiJet's French company. In 2018, the company also closed down its UK subsidiary.

In a statement issued to Private Jet Card Comparisons, Sarah Djeradi, Marketing Director of WiJet said: "We do not plan to stop our flights as our AOC and aircraft are based in Luxembourg. As we enter the lowest point of the annual season, we are indeed closing the French subsidiary as our operations have grown in Luxembourg and Belgium with our AOC partners. You may remember our roadmap when we closed Blink (Blackbushe) back in 2018. We are also transferring lease titles between entities in Luxembourg, hence the fact we cancel flights until January 11, 2020. Over the last months, we have had an extremely strong demand for our service on HondaJets and we are looking forward to resuming flights in January 2020 with our AOC partners."

WiJet signed a Memorandum of Understanding for sixteen HA-420 at the Singapore Air Show in February 2018, to replace its existing fifteen Cessna Citation Mustangs. It received the first of those aircraft in March and now has six in service.

It is the HondaJets that WiJet uses for its contract with Air France under its La Première brand. It is not clear whether this relationship will continue and an airline spokesperson merely said there is “no further information at this time” regarding its partnership with Wijet.
