Severstal Aircompany (D2, Cherepovets) has taken delivery of the first SSJ 100/95B equipped with newly-certified "saberlets", Sukhoi's version of horizontal winglets.

Severstal's fourth SSJ 100/95, RA-89135 (msn 95181) has yet to be ferried from Zhukovsky, where it has been undergoing completion since July this year, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.

For its part, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Zhukovsky) said in a statement it had obtained a Major Change Approval from Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) on December 21 ahead of RA-89135's delivery.

The saberlets should reduce fuel burn by around 4% while also reducing the aircraft's noise footprint and improving take-off and landing performance. They will be available both for new-build aircraft and as a retrofit for in-service regional jets.

Besides the four SSJ 100/95s, Severstal Aircompany also operates four CRJ200s.
