Swiss (LX, Zurich) has announced that effective late March, it will switch its services between Zurich and Beijing to the Chinese capital’s new Beijing Daxing International Airport.

The airline serves the Chinese capital city via Beijing Capital daily in the summer and 5x weekly in winter. The 4,335-nautical mile (8,028-kilometre) route is operated using A330-300 equipment, of which it has 14 in its fleet.

Referring to the ch-aviation schedules module, no other Lufthansa Group airline has decided to move its flights from Capital to Daxing so far other than Swiss. Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) will continue to offer daily services from Munich and Frankfurt International to Capital this summer. In addition, Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) flies to the older Beijing airport 5x weekly from its Vienna gateway.

Fellow European Star Alliance carrier LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) will serve Daxing 4x weekly and Capital 3x weekly during Summer 2020, Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) offers a daily link to the older facility, while SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) offers a daily service to Capital from Copenhagen Kastrup.
