Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) has ended ATR72-500 operations after it grounded its six remaining aircraft of the type and put them up for sale.

According to Flightradar24 ADS-b data, ZK-MCY (msn 703) conducted Air New Zealand's last commercial ATR72-500 service on February 9 as flight NZ5383 Wellington-Christchurch. The carrier will continue to operate newer ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops through its fleet of twenty-seven ATR72-600s.

The ch-aviation schedules module shows that the carrier uses its ATR72s to run regular flights throughout New Zealand's North and South Islands.
