Having completed heavy maintenance work on two of its three DHC-6-300s, Solomons - Solomon Airlines (IE, Honiara) plans to add a fourth unit of the type shortly, the carrier said in a LinkedIn post.

"The full refurbishment of Twin Otters H4-NNP (msn 491) and H4-OTA (msn 280) was recently completed and plans to acquire another completely relifed Twin Otter are underway," the airline said.

The third Twin Otter in the carrier's current fleet, H4-FSI (msn 703), is the youngest one at 39.9 years of age. The two units that underwent heavy maintenance are 44.1 and 50.4 years old. The aircraft are used on domestic routes within the Solomon Islands.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Solomons also operates a single Dash 8-100 and an A320-200.

The airline suspended all of its scheduled international services, with the exception of repatriation flights, on March 27, 2020.
