London City Airport will resume scheduled flight operations from the end of June after suspending them on March 25.

The downtown metropolitan aerodrome said in an announcement that domestic services to key cities in the United Kingdom will begin first, with international flights expected in early July.

Steps have been taken to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the installation of temperature checking technology, providing staff with face masks and visors, and providing clear instructional signage. “The airport will deploy an innovative solution with long term partners Crowd-Vision which will enable the detection of areas where there is a high concentration of passengers who can then be directed to quieter areas,” the airport said in a statement.

According to the ch-aviation schedules module, services to Teesside with Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) will start on July 6. BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City) is also due to serve Edinburgh and Glasgow International from July 1 and 10 respectively while Loganair (LM, Glasgow International) is due to resume Dundee flights from July 6.

In terms of international services, Air Antwerp (Antwerp) has so far said it would resume its Antwerp to London City route from September 1. Given its proximity to London's financial district, the airport was mostly favoured by business travellers and was served by Alitalia, British Airways (through CityFlyer), Eastern Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Loganair, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Luxair, and Swiss, according to the ch-aviation PRO airports module.
