Air Tahiti Nui (TN, Papeete) has announced it will resume normal scheduled services from Papeete to Paris CDG on July 2, 2020, after authorities in French Polynesia lifted all border restrictions for travel to the territory.

Earlier this month, the High Commissioner of the Republic in French Polynesia, the highest authority in the territory, announced that all border restrictions for travel into the collectivity will be lifted on July 15 for travellers from all countries.

The carrier will initially operate its services to Paris 4x weekly via Vancouver International. After July 13, it plans to return to using Los Angeles International as a refuelling stop and increase the frequency to 5x weekly. Passengers will be allowed to travel on the Los Angeles-Papeete sector as of July 20, when the airline will start operating the route daily (including 2x weekly only to Los Angeles and 5x weekly via Los Angeles to Paris). The carrier's services to Auckland International and Tokyo Narita remain suspended due to border restrictions still in effect in New Zealand and Japan.
